The Mumbai Press Club Red Ink Awards is a celebration of quality writing, fair play and high ethical standards in journalism. It stands as a reminder of the larger purpose of journalism, and its greater responsibility to the society.

In its fifth year now, the Red Ink Awards 2015 have been expanded and restructured so as to include television stories in each of the categories.

Judged by a distinguished panel of judges appointed for each category, the winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000, a trophy and a citation. The Awards Ceremony will be held in Mumbai on April 30 at Jamshed Bhaba Theatre, at the NCPA, Mumbai.

The RedInk Awards 2014 had received more than 1,000 applications with the Awards Ceremony being attended by 800 journalists and media persons. Important dignitaries such as Manish Tiwari and Prakash Javdekar, both of whom were earlier ministers of Information & Broadcasting, former HRD minister Kapil Sibal and Shri Shankar Narayanan, erstwhile governor of Maharashtra, are some of the dignitaries who have presided over the event. The Awards Night is also an occasion when the profession debates the ‘State of the Media’ which has been anchored in the past by eminent media personalities such as Arnab Goswami, Rajdeep Sardesai, Mrinal Pande and Piyush Pandey.

 
This year, the RedInk Awards promises to have many more participants; and the Awards Night will be bigger and better than the years gone by.
