Coinciding with the 70th Independence Day festivities, the Mumbai Press Club is launching the new season of KNOWLEDGE SERIES which is aimed at throwing light on burning issues and contribute to overall understanding of the subject. We start with a bang and big way on a discussion on ELEPHANTS.

As you are aware, 2016 has been declared as the International Elephant Conservation Year & 12th August 2016 is the World Elephant Day.

On this occasion, to create awareness on elephant behaviour and patterns, a well-known expert on elephants and award-winning photographer, Anand Shinde, a member of Mumbai Press Club, would give a presentation on his work with elephants in Kerala. Over the last four years, he has developed ability to communicate with the elephant by observing their ears, eyes, trunk explorations and hearing their rumbling sounds.

This one-hour presentation, especially his experience with elephants, is scheduled on Friday August 12, 2016 at 1.30 pm sharp at club conference hall.

All wildlife lovers are invited for the presentation and to interact with Anand Shinde. This will be followed by a Q&A session.

In fact, over the last four to five years, there has been a debate on media on elephant-human conflict, elephants getting run over by trains, the killing of Indian elephants for tusks.

Post the media interaction, Shinde would be available for one-on-one interview with TV and print journalists.
